Well, today I had a careers expo, where all these uni's in the state came to one place so they could set up all these stalls for students to come to and talk about what they are interested in for uni. Well, being only in yr 10, and not having even had my subject selections yet, I went with a very confused mind. I'm interested in Business for uni, especially in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Commerce and Marketing so I went to a couple of the better unis to ask about the courses. By better uni's I mean UNSW and USYD, and Macquarie because their Accounting is VERY good.
But being me, I have still got no idea on what I should choose for my subjects next year. D: My parents are sort of suggesting that I do a science based course in uni because they have "secure jobs". But I'm not really that into science stuff, if I was to do a science based course in uni, it would have to be either optometry or surgery based things. Anything else and I will have no interest in it at all. The real problem is that when I pick my subjects for next year I should be doing things that I like, yet all the things I like are commerce based, but IF I take a science subject it means that I will have a wider selection of what career path and uni course I can apply for.
So, I guess I should just read all the booklets I took and decide whether I really want to do Business, or if I should listen to my parents and do a Science based course. But then again, maybe I should just sort out what courses i want to take for next year and decide on the uni's later on. You think so?
Anyways.....how did all of you guys decide what you are going to take? And what are you taking now?
